Flat Bottom Silos – Precision, Efficiency & Versatility

Flat bottom silos are specifically engineered with a flat base, making them the ideal solution for permanent, high-volume, long-term storage requirements. The design incorporates advanced sweep auger systems, enabling efficient material discharge and smooth operations even when managing large stored quantities.

Heritage Steel grain storage silos are customised to perform in every unique and challenging condition, with a primary focus on preserving grain quality throughout all storage periods and seasonal variations.

🏭 State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility

Heritage Steel operates a cutting-edge manufacturing facility spanning over 435,600 sq ft. Equipped with CNC-based machinery, our facility processes 5,000 tonnes of steel every month — ensuring your project timelines are consistently met with full engineering support.

Three Variants of Grain Storage Silos

Heritage Steel offers a complete range of silo configurations to meet every storage capacity and site requirement.

🏗️

Flat Bottom Silos

Diameter range from 9.14 m (500 MT) to 31.97 m (15,000 MT). Ideal for permanent, large-scale bulk storage applications requiring sweep auger discharge.

Hopper Bottom Silos

Diameter range from 3.65 m (50 MT) to 10.96 m (750 MT). Designed for gravity-discharge and frequent throughput operations.

🚛

Truck Loading Silos

Diameter range from 3.65 m to 4.57 m with varying capacities tailored to individual client truck-loading workflow requirements.

Why Heritage Steel Silos?

From superior materials to precision manufacturing, here is what sets our silos apart from the competition.

Galvalume & Zincalume Sheet Metal

We exclusively use cutting-edge Galvalume (GI) and Zincalume (ZA) coated sheet metal in all our silos, providing outstanding long-term corrosion protection in every climate.

High Yield Strength Stiffeners

Galvanised steel stiffeners reduce overall silo weight for easier assembly while optimising structural behaviour against wind, seismic, and grain-load forces.

Wave Design Wall Sheets

The gentle-radius wave design provides greater structural strength and improved silo cleaning, ensuring materials unload without residue or contamination.

CNC-Profiled Wall Panels

Side wall panels are processed on dedicated CNC machines. Pitch and depth of corrugations are precisely calculated to maximise load-bearing strength.

Grade 8.8–10.9 HDG Bolts

High-tensile bolts with hot-dip galvanisation coating of 40–50 micron average thickness are used on all silos, meeting international galvanisation standards.

31° Sloped Conical Roof

A cylindrical body with a 31-degree sloped conical roof safely stores grains, seeds, and palletized products while ensuring efficient rainwater run-off and load distribution.

Design Standards

Our flat bottom silos are engineered in compliance with the most demanding international quality benchmarks.

Our silos comply with the following European standards, guaranteeing structural reliability and performance in every application and geography:

EN 1991.4 EN 1993.4.1 EN 1993.4.2 EN 1991.1.4 EN 1998.4

Heritage Steel flat bottom silos are not merely storage structures — they represent a strategic long-term investment for businesses seeking efficiency, durability, and scalability. With the ability to meet global standards and adapt to diverse industrial needs, our silos provide the ultimate solution to large-scale storage challenges.

Process & Technology

A series of precise manufacturing steps ensures every Heritage Steel silo meets the highest structural integrity standards.

01

CNC Drilling for Nut & Bolt Holes

All nut and bolt holes are prepared using advanced CNC machinery to guarantee precision alignment and consistency across every component.

02

CNC Bending Process

Components are shaped using high-precision CNC bending machines, ensuring dimensional accuracy and repeatability throughout the production run.

03

Profiling & Curving of Wall Panels

Wall panels are profiled and curved on dedicated CNC corrugation machines, ensuring uniformity in corrugation depth and pitch for optimal load-bearing strength.

04

Hot-Dip Galvanising

All fabricated components undergo hot-dip galvanising with a protective coating exceeding 500 GSM, significantly enhancing long-term durability and corrosion resistance.

05

Multi-Stage Quality Checks

Three-stage quality inspection covers in-process monitoring, internal material inspection, and a comprehensive pre-dispatch inspection before any shipment leaves the facility.

06

Safe & Secure Packaging

All components are carefully packed using pallets, crates, wooden boxes, and stands, ensuring safe delivery to project sites worldwide.

Installation Process

With over 8,000 successful installations, our project team handles and commissions any silo project in any environment.

1

A 100 mm raised platform is constructed and anchoring PCD pockets are established. The silo diameter begins 50 mm from the raised step, with the gap filled using RCC concrete and foundation sealant coping.

2

The dome cap at the centre is mounted first, after complete verification of all foundation works.

3

First wall rings are assembled simultaneously with the roof rafters of the conical roof.

4

Wall sheets are overlapped 150–200 mm at vertical joints, sealed with butyl seal tape, and joined via 8.8 grade HDG high-tensile nut bolts with rubber and GI washers from both sides. Horizontal overlaps of 70 mm are sealed with silicone sealant from inside.

5

Roof sheets are overlapped 200 mm and nut-bolted using 8.8 grade HDG bolts with rubber and GI washers. Goose neck vents are sealed using Anabond tape and PU sealant (Sikaflex TS Plus). Ladders and railings are then fixed over the roof.

6

Pressurised water spray testing is performed at every nut-bolt assembly, stiffener fixing, and roof sheet joint to verify full structural integrity before lifting proceeds.

7

The structure is raised using vertical jacks after each water test, and additional rings, wind rings (50 mm hollow HDG pipe), and stiffeners (HDG 550 GSM) are added progressively until the full silo height is achieved.

8

J-bolts grouted over the base plate are placed over anchoring PCD pockets, filled with RCC cement and waterproofing solution. Civil coping is completed all around the silo perimeter for final sealing.

📋 Post-Installation Assurance

Silos are assembled using high-quality sealants and high-tensile bolts. Hydro-testing is performed after the roof segment and each subsequent ring to ensure optimal structural performance and watertight integrity.

Our on-site project team provides comprehensive training to the client's operations staff, designed to promote cost-effective operation and maintenance throughout the full lifespan of the silo.

Goal posts for overhead conveyor structures, ancillary equipment, and all accessories are commissioned as the final stage before formal project handover and client sign-off.
